Province 1 CM Karki wins vote of confidence

KATHMANDU: Province 1 Chief Minister Hikmat Karki of CPN (UML) won a vote of confidence on Friday.

As many as 59 lawmakers out of 93 lawmakers voted in favor of Karki during a province assembly meeting held today.

Thirty-two lawmakers cast their votes against him. One lawmaker of the Nepali Congress was absent.

Karki was appointed the Chief Minister of Province 1 with the support of 60 lawmakers from four parties in the ruling coalition.
