PM directs EC office bearers to start preparations for the election of President, Vice-President

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal held a consultation with the office bearers of the Election Commission for the election of President, Vice-President and the vacant post of National Assembly member.

During a meeting held at the Office and Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singhadurbar on Monday, PM Dahal urged the office bearers of the Commission to start necessary processes for the election of President, Vice-President and a vacant post the National Assembly member.

“Take necessary process ahead for the election to a vacant post of National Assembly member. We will hold discussions for the election of President and Vice-President with the political parties. We will reach a conclusion soon,” he said.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister thanked the office bearers for holding the local level elections and elections to the House of Representatives and Province Assembly  in an efficient way.

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel and Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane among others were also present in the meeting.

Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya among others commissioners briefed the prime minister about the functioning of the Election Commission and the election process.
