Squatters stage demonstration outside KMC office (With photos)

KATHMANDU: The squatters of Thapathali have staged a demonstration outside the office of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC)on Tuesday.

They staged the demonstration demanding that the government stop the dozer terror at the earliest and resignation of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah.

They have also demanded proper management of the squatters.

The Bagmati River Basin Development Project Committee had repeatedly issued notices to vacate the squatter settlement.

After the squatters turned blind eye to the request, the KMC in coordination with the Committee had reached the settlement with a dozer.

Tension ran high in the area after the KMC used the dozer in the area.

More than 15 police personnel of the KMC were injured in a clash with the squatters.
