NC’s Poudel emerges victorious in Kathmandu-5

KATHMANDU: Pradip Poudel of Nepali Congress (NC) has won the election to the Member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from constituency no. 5 of Kathmandu district by securing 15,237 votes, Assistant Returning Officer of the constituency Kamal Kant Joshi said.

Poduel won the election with a margin of 5,062 votes. His nearest rival Ishwar Pokharel of CPN (UML) came second with 10,175 votes.
This is the first victory of Poduel to the parliamentary elections.

Of the total 70,919 voters, 45,978 votes were cast while 44,407 votes were valid in the constituency. RSS
