Nepal clinch first bilateral ODI series against UAE on home ground

KATHMANDU: Nepal won the first Nepal-UAE bilateral ODI series on the home ground after defeating United Arab Emirates (UAE) by six wickets on Friday.

The match was played at Tribhuvan International (TU) cricket ground. Nepal won the first bilateral ODI series on the home ground.

Nepal chased down the 177-run target set by UAE scoring 180 runs in 40.1 overs losing four wickets.

Opening batsman Asif Sheikh scored not out 88 runs off 119 balls hitting 12 fours.

Similarly, Gyanendra Malla contributed 64 runs off 73 balls with seven fours and three sixes.

Likewise, captain Rohit Paudel, Arjun Saud scored 10 and 9 runs each.

On the bowling side, Gulshan Jha, Dipendra Singh Airee and Kushal Bhurtel took two wickets each for Nepal.

Sompal Kami and Lalit Rajbanshi claimed one wicket each.
