Meeting of Prachanda-Madhav CPN Parliamentary Party scheduled for today

KATHMANDU: The Prachanda-Madhav Nepal faction of the divided CPN has convened a meeting of the parliamentary party today. A meeting of the party was called at 4 PM, said Jhapat Rawal, a member of the reconstituted House of Representatives.

A meeting has been convened to inform the parliamentarians about the next steps after the re-establishment of the House of Representatives. After the dissolution of the House of Representatives, the Prachanda-Madhav faction announced the removal of KP Oli from the party leadership and elected Prachanda as its leader.

Even if Oli is to be removed from the party leadership as the CPN has not been legally divided, the Prachanda-Madhav faction will have to go through a legal process. Another MP Krishna Bhakta Pokharel said that the issue could be discussed at the meeting.

Today’s meeting will also show the number of Prachanda-Madhav MPs in the reconstituted House of Representatives.
