Students aligned to sister wings of various political parties vandalise Chakrabarti Law College (With video)

KATHMANDU : Students aligned to sister wings of various political parties vandalised the Chakrabarti Law college at Bijulibazaar in Kathmandu on Wednesday.

Students affiliated to Nepal Student Union, All Nepal National Free Students Union and Akhil Krantikari vandalised the college yesterday.

They have been staging a joint protest at the college premises for the past few days demanding that the college withdraw the decision to hike college fee.

The students have been staging a demonstration after the college decided to increase the fee of five-year BA LLB course by Rs 3.5 lakh.

According to the college, properties worth around Rs 7-8 lakhs were damaged in the incident.

The students smashed most of  windows of the college.

It has been learnt the leaders of the student organisations started vandalising the college after the college staffers stopped them from padlocking the college.

Earlier on Monday, discussions were held between the protestors and the college administration.

However, they could not reach a logical conclusion.

The students have said that they will continue their protest today also.

They said that they will protest in a peaceful manner and also organize a press conference today.
