PM Deuba skips meeting of Parliamentary Committee

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba skipped the meeting of the International Relations Committee for the House of Representatives on Friday, giving continuity to the deep rooted culture of snubbing the Parliament.

Earlier, Prime Minister Deuba snubbed the Parliament even though he was scheduled to attend the meeting of the House of Representatives to answer the questions on budget and foreign policy.

Regarding today’s meeting, the Prime Minister said that he was not informed about the meeting earlier.

Committee President Pabitra Niraula informed the lawmakers, who arrived at the meeting hall to hear the reply of the Prime Minister, that the Office of the Prime Minister told her that Deuba is in Dhangadhi and he was unaware about today’s meeting.

Sher termed the irresponsible reply of the Prime Minister as an insult to the Committee.
