Democratic Socialist Party leaders urge PM Deuba to endorse Citizenship Bill
KATHMANDU: Democratic Socialist Party leaders held a meeting with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba at the latter’s residence in Baluwatar on Monday.
During the meeting, the leaders urged the Prime Minister to pass the Citizenship Bill at the earliest.
In response, Prime Minister Deuba assured that the Citizenship Bill will be brought after answering questions on the budget being discussed in the Parliament, the leaders said.
“We have reached Baluwatar today. The Prime Minister has expressed his assurance to bring the Citizenship Bill immediately after the budget discussions,” Democratic Socialist Party leader Sharad Singh Bhandari said.
Party Chairman Mahantha Thakur, Rajendra Mahato, Sharad Singh Bhandari among other leaders have also drawn the attention of the Prime Minister over the 11-point charter of demands they submitted to him on June 7.
