Renu Dahal elected mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City 

KATHMANDU: Renu Dahal of CPN (Maoist Centre) has been elected as the mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City of Chitwan.

Dahal won the mayoral post for the second term with a wide margin of 12,449 votes.

She garnered 52,030 votes while her nearest rival from CPN UML Bijay Subedi got 39,581 votes.

Similarly, Chitrasen Adhikari of the Nepali Congress has been elected as the deputy mayor.

However, the official announcements of the results are yet to be made.
