13 killed, 12 injured in Syangja jeep accident

KATHMANDU: At least 13 persons died and 12 others sustained injuries when a jeep they were travelling in met with accident at Arkhalabas in Waling-13 of Syangja on Friday.

Chief District Officer Raju Prasad Paudel of Syangja said that 13 persons lost their lives in the jeep (Ga 2 Cha 3026) accident.

It has been learnt that the incident occurred when the jeep carrying voters were heading towards the polling centre from Sikhre, Waling-14.

All the deceased and the injured are from the same village.

CDO Paudel said that the jeep fell some 500 metres down the road.

Police said that the injured have been sent to Pokhara for treatment.
