Police open fire as NC, UML cadres clash in Okhaldhunga

KATHMANDU: Police fired nine rounds of bullets in the air after a clash broke out between the cadres of Nepali Congress and CPN-UML in Champadevi Rural Municipality of Okhaldhunga on Friday.

The District Police Office, Okhaldhunga said that the security personnel fired nine rounds of bullets in the air to take the situation under control.

Police Inspector Keshav Adhikari, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Okhaldhunga, said that the clash ensued between the cadres of Nepali Congress and UML while managing the voting line.

The voting has been halted following the clash, Adhikari said.
