Ruling coalition directs concerned parties to withdraw rebel candidacies

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the top leaders of the five-party alliance has directed the concerned parties to withdraw candidacies filed against the decision of the coalition in six metropolitan cities and 11 sub-metropolitan cities.

A meeting held at Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s official residence in Baluwatar on Wednesday made the decision to this effect.

Senior leaders of the parties have also made a seven-point agreement.

As per the agreement, a meeting of the province and district mechanism of the coalition will be called in six metropolitan cities and 11 sub-metropolitan cities today itself to divide the seats of various posts of ward among the coalition parties.

Similarly, the meeting has also decided to withdraw candidacies filed by the parties against the agreement of the coalition in municipalities and rural municipalities.

Likewise, the meeting has decided not to forge an electoral alliance other than the coalition at any level.
