PM Deuba to leave for Sri Lanka on March 30 to participate in 5th BIMSTEC summit

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba will leave for Sri Lanka on March 30 to take part in the 5th Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) summit.

“I and the Prime Minister will leave for Sri Lanka on March 30 to participate in the BIMSTEC summit,” Foreign Minister Narayan Khadka said in a press conference held in the ministry on Monday.

The 4th BIMSTEC summit was held in Kathmandu in 2018.

BIMSTEC has seven member countries—Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Thailand and Myanmar.

Heads of state and government from all the seven countries will take part in the summit.
