Speaker Sapkota cannot run away from his responsibility: NC

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress said that Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota cannot run away from his responsibility to table the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) in the Parliament.

Talking to journalists after the party’s Executive Committee, spokesperson Prakash Sharan Mahat said that the Parliament should take the decision on this issue.

“The speaker should understand his work, duty and responsibility. He cannot run away from his responsibility,” Mahat said, adding, “The Parliament should be allowed to take the decision on the MCC.”

The meeting also discussed local level elections and sister organisations of the party.

“The time has not come to decide on the alliance. The decision will come in an appropriate time,” he said.

The meeting has been postponed for 2 pm tomorrow.
