Ruling coalition decides not to hold local level elections in April

KATHMANDU: The ruling coalition has decided not to hold the local level elections in April.

A meeting of the senior leaders of the ruling coalition held in Baluwatar decided to hold the local elections after October  by amending the laws that contradicts with the constitution.

Janata Samajbadi Party Federal Council Chairman Baburam Bhattarai said that the leaders have agreed to hold the elections after the completion of the tenure of the local representatives elected from the all three phases of elections held in 2017.

Attorney General Khamma Bahadur Khati, former attorney general Raman Shrestha and advocate Govinda Bandi were called in the meeting to give legal opinion on the issue.
