Province 2 named Madhesh province with Janakpur as capital

KATHMANDU: Province 2 has been named as Madhesh Province.

Out of 99 lawmakers present at the Provincial Assembly meeting held on Monday, 80 cast their votes in favour of the proposal to name province 2 as Madhesh Province. Nineteen lawmakers voted against the proposal.

Earlier today, the meeting had passed the proposal to declare Janakpurdham as the permanent capital of Province 2.
