Aircraft carrying Vero Cell vaccines forced to abort landing due to adverse weather

KATHMANDU: A Qatar Airlines aircraft carrying a shipment of Vero Cell vaccines  was forced to turn back due to adverse weather on Monday.

The aircraft with 121, 887 doses of vaccines donated to Nepal by China under the COVAX facility could not land at the Tribhuvan International Airport due to bad weather, Surendra Chaurasiya, Chief of the Logistic Management Section of the Department of Health Services said.

He said that the vaccines will arrive by tomorrow.

Similarly, 1,870,500 doses of vaccines will be arriving from India today itself.

So far, Nepal has imported 35,466,980 doses of COVID-19 vaccines and 21,654,109 vaccines have already been administered. RSS
