Govt will soon declare those killed in Maoist insurgency as national martyrs: Dahal
KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the government will soon declare those killed in decade-long Maoist insurgency as national martyrs.
Speaking at a programme organised in the Capital on Thursday, Chairman Dahal expressed his happiness over the government’s recent move to include the issue of bearing treatment expenses of the injured and provide relief to the family of deceased and missing persons in the common minimum programme.
He further said that the government has not done as much as it should do to the deceased, missing, injured and differently-abled persons.
Dahal was of the opinion that the situation has come as the Maoist revolution has not been completed yet.
“When I was appointed as the Prime Minister, my first decision was to announce martyrs of the decade-long Maoist insurgency as the national martyrs,” he said, adding,”But, it is sad to say that some people deliberately misplaced the document of the decision.”
