Govt bans public gatherings ahead of festive season

KATHMANDU: The District Administration Office, Kathmandu has barred people from gathering in open spaces for protests, mass meetings, seminars and fairs among others until further notice from today in a bid to stem the surge of Covid-19.

Issuing a statement on Thursday, Chief District Officer (CDO) Govinda Prasad Rijal urged people to celebrate upcoming festivals like Dashain and Tihar by avoiding large gatherings and following health safety protocols.
