Govt scraps 1410 road projects launched by erstwhile KP Oli-led govt (With list)

KATHMANDU: The coalition government has recently scrapped more than 1400 road projects launched by the erstwhile KP Sharma Oli-led government.
The then  Prime Minister Oli had inaugurated 165 strategic road projects, one in each electoral constituency under the road infrastructure development programme.
But, the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led coalition government scrapped the projects owing to the lack of budget.
The Federation of Contractors’ Association Nepal has also condemned the move of the government  to scrap the road projects.

The Oli-led government had started the 1410 road projects to provide road access to all the places.

After the formation of a new government, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma brought a replacement for the budget ordinance issued by the erstwhile Oli-led government.
The government scrapped 1410 road projects through the replacement bill citing lack of budget.

Contractors Association Nepal President Ravi Singh said that it was not good to scrap the projects that have already been started citing lack of budget.

The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, however, refused to talk about the road projects scrapped by the incumbent government.
The erstwhile government had allocated Rs 3.49 billion for the projects.

The Oli-led government had allocated Rs 2.4 million for each project.
