KATHMANDU: Thousands of people above 18 years of age receive first dose of  Vero Cell vaccines in various vaccination centers of the Kathmandu Valley on Saturday.

As many as 1,000 people receive their first dose of the Vero Cell vaccine in Sarawastinagar Sudhar Sangh, vaccination centre of Budhanilkantha Municipality alone.

After Nepal received 800,000 Vero Cell vaccine from China on Thursday, the government started inoculating people above 18 years of age with the first dose of Vero Cell vaccine in different places of Kathmandu Valley from Friday.

According to the Chairman of  Sarawastinagar Sudhar Sangh, Peshal Kumar Pahadi, around 1, 300 people received the first dose of the Vero Cell vaccine on Friday.

He said that people will be provided second dose of vaccine from August 25.
