Drinking water pipe in Thapathali repaired

KATHMANDU: The drinking water supply pipe of the Melamchi Drinking Water Project which burst open in Thapathali on Tuesday morning has been repaired.

A technical team of Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL) completed the repair of the broken pipeline at 4 am today, KUKL engineer Prakash Baral shared.

The road remains closed to traffic while shops and houses nearby were waterlogged after water from the major pipeline supplying water to downtown Kathmandu gushed out in hundred thousand of litres.
