Police, protestors opposing cable car project clash in Taplejung

KATHMANDU: A group of people, who were opposing the cable car project in Pathibhara, Taplejung, clashed with police at Birendra Chowk in Phunglung Bazaar.

Some police personnel and protesters were injured during the clash.

The protestors, who had returned from Kaflepati, had taken out a torch rally at Phunglung Bazaar.

It has been learnt that a group led by Rajendra Mahato from Madhes Province had also joined the protest.

The protestors had also set some houses on fire.

Chief District Officer Netra Prasad Paudel said that police had used force to take the situation under control.
