Opposition parties urge government to call winter session pronto

KATHMANDU: Six opposition parties have urged the government to call the winter session of the Parliament.

The parties have also made an agreement to demand for a special session if the government did not call the winter session at the earliest.

After the meeting, CPN (Maoist Centre) General Secretary Barshaman Pun said, “The government has shown a tendency to run the government arbitrarily through ordinances by not convening a regular session of Parliament. All the parties are concerned about it. The government has not been able to call the winter session.”

The winter session should be called for the formulation of the necessary laws, he said.
