Rabi Lamichhane suspended from lawmaker’s post
KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party President Rabi Lamichhane, who was elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Chitwan-2, has been suspended from the post of lawmaker.
Issuing a notice, Parliament General Secretary, Padma Prasad Pandey said that Lamichhane has been suspended automatically from the post of lawmaker as per Section 27 of Money-Laundering Prevention Act, 2064.
Writing to the Speaker, the District Police Office, Kaski, on Sunday had informed about the case of money laundering filed against Lamichhane at the Kaski District Court.
Kaski Police had sent a letter to the Federal Parliament Secretariat to suspend Lamichhane from the post of HoR member.
Meanwhile, Deputy-Chairperson of Rastriya Swatantra Party, Dol Prasad Aryal, has been assigned as Acting Chairperson of the party.
A Secretariat meeting of the RSP took the decision in this regard.
