APF Sub-Inspector dies after being hit by vehicle smuggling liquor in Siraha
JANAKPURDHAM: Sub-Inspector at Armed Police Force Laxman Prasad Yadav died after being hit by a vehicle smuggling liquor at Kachanari in Bariyarpatti Rural Municipality-1, Siraha on Sunday.
Yadav was working in BOP Barhari.
DSP Birendra Paswan of the District Police Office, Siraha informed that an unidentified four-wheeler hit Yadav at around 3 am today while he was on duty.
According to him, the vehicle fled towards India after the incident.
He said that they are searching for the vehicle.
Liquor is banned in Bihar, India. That is why liquor is smuggled to Bihar from the border areas of Madhesh Province.
The incident occurred when Yadav tried to stop the speeding vehicle. Police informed that he died on the spot.
The body of Yadav has been taken to Provincial Hospital for postmortem.
Security has been tightened at the border areas after the incident.
