Umesh Shrestha nominated as NC treasurer

KATHMANDU: Umesh Shrestha has been nominated as the treasurer of the Nepali Congress.

President Sher Bahadur Deuba nominated central member Shrestha as the treasurer of the party, reads a statement issued by the party.

Former minister Shrestha is also a businessman.

He was in the economic department of the Congress for a long time.

Rastriya Swatantra Party President Rabi Lamichhane had defeated Shrestha in the 2022 elections in Chitwan-2.

The post of treasure had been lying vacant for a long time.
