Mountaineer Nirmal Purja receives warm welcome at TIA

KATHMANDU: Mountaineer Nirmal Purja aka ‘Nims Dai’, who has set a record by reaching the summit of the highest mountains of seven continents (Seven Summits), received a warm welcome at the Tribhuvan International Airport on Friday.

He returned to Nepal after successfully climbing the last destination of the seven summits Carstenz Pyramid in Indonesia at 1:50 on Sunday.

The Carstenz Pyramid is one of the seven summits of the World.

Purja has become the first mountaineer to climb all 14 peaks above 8,000 meters without oxygen 50 times and climb the highest mountains of seven continents (seven summits).

Hundreds of youth took out a motorcycle rally to welcome him at the airport.
