Six more bodies recovered in Lalitpur

LALITPUR: Police have confirmed that six more bodies of those killed due to the rain-induced disasters were recovered in Lalitpur.

Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Narahari Adhikari, today shared that total 40 bodies—34 till Monday and six this morning – were found so far in the course of search and rescue operation.

Assistant Chief District Officer, Kalpana Ghimire Nepal, mentioned that of the recovered bodies, postmortem of 17 bodies was conducted and the bodies were handed over to their relatives.

“Preparations are underway to bring the remaining bodies to Patan Hospital for postmortem with the help and coordination of police,” she added.

As per the data updated by Nepal Police this morning, the bodies of Ayush Syangtan (9) of Mahankal Rural Municipality-2; Ram Maya Syangtan (40) of Mahankal-2, her 14-year-old son Ajay Syangtan, another son Subas Syangtan (11) and nine-year-old daughter Salina Syangtan were recovered. Ram Maya, Ajay, Subas and Salina are the members of the same family.

Similarly, a five-year-old Setu Sah of Rautahat, currently living in Kantipur Colony of Lalitpur Metropolis, Devraj Karki (40) of Okhaldhunga, currently living in Lalitpur, Bikau Sah (32) of Rautahat, currently living in Kantipur Colony, have gone missing.

Likewise, Bibek Singh, working at Anandaban Hospital in Godawari Rural Municipality, Keshav Neupane (50) of Bagmati Rural Municipality-1, Sanjita Syangtan (12) Chhabi Lal Syangtan (35) and his sister-in-law of Mahankal-2 are still missing.
