Nepali student Bhandari performs at concert attended by Dutch Prime Minister

KATHMANDU: A Nepali poet has performed at a prestigious poetry concert in the Netherlands organized in honor of those who lost their lives in the Second World War.

Nepali poet Paridhi Bhandari performed at the Liberation Concert held on September 12

The Dutch Prime Minister also attended the program organised in the Margraten area. The event was attended by around 4,000 popular faces.

The program was also broadcast live on American TV.

It has been learnt that Bhandari was given a place on behalf of her college, United World College (UWC).

She recited her poem titled ‘Whispers from Margraten’.

The organizers have placed the Dutch translation of her poem written in English language in the program brochure.

She recited her poem after being selected from among 1000 international students of UWC.

Introducing her, the organizer wrote, “Paridhi is one of the brilliant students.”

Bhandari of Gouradah, Jhapa is studying in the Netherlands as a student of UWC after studying till higher secondary level at the Xavier International School.

She is the first Nepali student to perform at such a ceremony.

The event is being organized in memory of American soldiers who lost their lives 80 years ago.

Around 10,000 American soldiers were buried in this place.
