Nepal afoot to host Third Kathmandu Kalinga Literary Festival

Kathmandu: Nepal is afoot to host the Third Kathmandu Kalinga Literary Festival (KLF) 2024. First hosted in 2022, KLF has partnered with Yashaswi Pragya Pratisthan since its inception in Nepal. According to the press release, 300 writers and speakers from Nepal, India, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka will join this literary jamboree at Himalaya Hotel, Lalitpur from September 7 to 8.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation will formally inaugurate the function on Saturday morning. “The 3rd Kathmandu Kalinga Literary Festival will showcase literature, music, dance, poetry, and other art forms. ”It will be a lifetime experience for the lovers of literature, music, dance, art, poetry. The Festival will celebrate the long-standing ties between Nepal, India, and South Asian Countries in the context of the emerging global cultures,” said KLF Founder and Director, Rashmi Ranjan Parida.

Likewise, Ranjana Niraula, coordinator of KLF Kathmandu and the director of Yasashwi Pragya Pratisthan, Nepal seconded Parida. She added, ”Since 2022, Kalinga Literary Festival (KLF) associated with Yashaswi Pragya Pratisthan and Himalayan Diary Pvt. Ltd of Nepal is hosting the annual Kathmandu Kalinga Literary Festival. The collaboration will strengthen the cultural dialogue, religious as well as literary perspective and prolonged relations between Nepal and India and South Asian Countries.”

Named after India’s historical region in the eastern coastal region flanked by the Ganges and Godavari rivers, which now spans the whole of Odisha and parts of the Andhra Province of India, the Kalinga Literature Festival is India’s noted literary festival, with events in India, Nepal, and beyond.
