Pilgrims heading towards Kailash Manasarovar stranded

RASUWA: Pilgrims heading towards Kailash Manasarovar have been stranded after rainfall damaged the road towards the Chinese side.

Chief District Officer of Rasuwa, Bed Nidhi Khanal, said the flood in Kerung rivulet, five kilometers towards north China from Miteri bridge of Rasuwagadhi,, obstructed the road resulting in the obstruction of vehicular movement.

Around 500 pilgrims on their way to Nepal after visiting Kailash Manasarovar have been stranded at Kerung and around 100 pilgrims heading towards Kailash Manasarovar at Rasuwagadhi following the disruption of transport.

Nepal Police and APF 20 no. Company, Rasuwa, have been coordinating with each other to support stranded pilgrims, he shared.

Kerung Administration has been requested to take initiatives to resume the vehicular movement and facilitate the pilgrims heading towards Kailash Manasarovar, added Khanal.
