Four killed in Bajhang landslide

BAITADI: Four persons died in a landslide triggered by incessant rainfall at Tumeda in Bungal Municipality-10, Bajhang on Monday.

The deceased have been identified as Kami Dhami, Golki Dhami, Akrati Dhami and Laxmi Dhami, Assistant Chief District Officer Satya Kumari Joshi informed.

He said that four members of a family died when a landslide buried a house last night.

“We have received the information that four persons died and six were rescued alive. We are going to the affected area with relief materials,” Joshi said.

Police with the help of locals retrieved the bodies buried in the landslide this morning.

Bir Bahadur Dhami, Ujjwal Dhami, Roshan Dhami, Kamala Dhami, Ambadutta Joshi and Shanti Dhami were rescued alive.
