Torrential rainfall affects flights at TIA

KATHMANDU: Domestic and international flights at the Tribhuvan International Airport have been affected due to incessant rainfall and fog.

Some flights were diverted and some were put on hold in the air due to bad weather on Tuesday morning, the airport informed.

TIA spokesperson Subash Jha said that some aircrafts faced problems in landing owing to continuous rainfall.

An Aircraft of Turkish Airlines, which came to Kathmandu from Istanbul, was diverted while aircrafts of Fly Dubai and Drukair could not land at the airport due to adverse weather and remained on hold in the sky.

Similarly, Sita Air’s flight to Lukha has been cancelled due to bad weather.
