PM Dahal fails to secure vote of confidence

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has failed to secure a vote of confidence in Parliament on Friday.

A total of 258 lawmakers were present in the meeting today.

Sixty-three lawmakers of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Rastriya Swatantra Party and CPN (Unified Socialist) voted in favour of PM Dahal.

A total of 194 lawmakers voted against the Prime Minister.

In the 275-member House of Representatives, 184 votes are needed for two-thirds majority.

A lawmaker stated neutral.

Dahal was appointed as the Prime Minister for the third term on December 26, 2022.
