NC issues whip to vote against PM Dahal’s trust motion
KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress is to vote against Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s proposal seeking a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives on July 12.
PM Dahal is seeking a vote of confidence in the Parliament meeting at 11 am tomorrow.
Nepali Congress Chief Whip Ramesh Lekhak issued a whip to the party’s lawmakers to vote against the Prime Minister’s motion of vote of confidence.
Chief Whip Lekhak has also issued whip to the NC lawmakers to mandatorily be present in the Parliament meeting, take part and not to remain neutral in the voting on the motion, the NC Parliamentary Office stated.
Prime Minister Dahal, who is also the Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre), is seeking a vote of confidence for the fifth time in the House of Representatives in 18 months.
Lately, he is taking a vote of confidence in accordance with Article 100 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal after the CPN-UML pulled out of the government.
The largest party in the Parliament, the Nepali Congress, and the second largest the CPN-UML on July 1 forged an agreement to form a new government.
