NC to implement agreement to form parliamentary committee to investigate cooperative fraud scam

KATHMANDU: The main opposition Nepali Congress has decided to implement the agreement to form a parliamentary probe committee to investigate the misuse of cooperative funds.

The Parliamentary Party meeting of the party held on Tuesday morning decided to endorse the agreement, Chief Whip Ramesh Lekhak said.

He said that the task force would finalise the terms of reference (ToR).

“Now, the meeting of the task force will give the final shape. The ToR will be presented in the meeting of the House of Representatives at 4 pm today for the endorsement. We will submit the names of the committee members by 3 pm today,” he said.

A meeting of the ruling and opposition parties held on Monday had agreed to form a seven-member committee.

The committee will have two members each from CPN-UML and Nepali Congress and one each from CPN (Maoist Centre), Rastriya Swatantra Party and Rastriya Prajatantra Party.
