PM Dahal, Congress President Deuba hold talks
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba held a meeting on Sunday.
Congress Deputy General Secretary Jeevan Pariyar, however, said that the meeting could not yield any fruit.
Senior leaders of three major political parties Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Centre) were scheduled to meet at 9 am today.
But Congress President Deuba expressed his inability to attend the meeting citing health reasons.
He, however, called them to meet him at this residence.
Prime Minister Dahal went to Budhanilkantha at his request. Oli, however, did not.
At the beginning, Dahal and Deuba held a one-on-one meeting. Later, some leaders of the Nepali Congress joined the meeting.
Though the meeting zeroed in on the cooperative scam, it could not make any concrete decision, Pariyar informed.
“The Prime minister looks very serious on the issue. He urged Deuba to find ways to resolve the issue by this evening or tomorrow,” Pariyar said.
He accused the ruling coalition of trying to protect Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane in the cooperative scam.
