Police open fire to nab drug peddler in Banke
DANG: Police have opened fire to nab a drug peddler in Kohalpur, Banke on Thursday.
Suresh Pariyar (26) of Kohalpur-12 was injured in the police fire. He sustained injuries on his left leg, SP Tul Bahadur Karki of the District Police Office, Banke said.
Police opened fire to apprehend him after he along with friends attacked a police team deployed from the Narcotics Drugs Control Bureau, Kathmandu in Kohalpur.
A team led by Inspector Rupesh Bista was attacked after they tried to arrest a drug peddler at Chappalagauda in Kohalpur.
Pariyar is undergoing treatment at the Bheri Hospital, SP Karki said. He is a local resident of Chappalgauda, Kohalpur Municipality-12.
Along with him, police have also rounded up Pramod Karki (Sharan) (27).
Police have confiscated 110-gram brown sugar from them.
Further investigation into the incident is underway, police said.
