Ashok Rai-led Janata Samajbadi Party receives party registration certificate from EC
KATHMANDU: The Ashok Rai-led Janata Samajbadi Party has received a new party registration certificate from the Election Commission.
The registration number of Janata Samajbadi Party, formed after the split of Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal, is 198.
The Commission said that the certificate was given in accordance with the Political Party Act 2073 and Rule 5 of the Regulation on Political Parties.
Senior leader Ashok Rai had filed an application at the Election Commission for the registration of a new party on Sunday with the signatures of seven lawmakers and 30 central members.
The Commission has also decided to inform the Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal and federal Parliament and Province Assembly and District Election Office about the party registration of Janata Samajbadi Party, EC assistant spokesperson Ram Dutta Pandey said.
