Secretary Madhu Kumar Marasini transferred to Finance Ministry

KATHMANDU: The government has transferred Secretary Madhu Kumar Marasini to the Finance Ministry.

Soon after he got a clean chit in the Payment Gateway case from the Special Court, Marasini was given the responsibility of the foreign secretary.

A Cabinet meeting held on Monday decided to transfer Marasini to the Finance Ministry, government spokesperson and Ministry of Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma said.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority had filed a case against Marasini when he was the secretary at the Ministry of Commerce.

He was suspended after the anti-corruption watchdog filed a case against him.

The Special Court acquitted him on Friday.

Marasini, who has a long experience at the Finance Ministry, has already served as the secretary at the Finance Ministry.

He had worked as the secretary at the Finance Ministry in the Lumbini Province for a long time.
