Government recommends President to nominate Anjana Shakya as NA member

KATHMANDU: The government has recommended President Ram Chandra Paudel to nominate Anjana Shakya as the National Assembly member.

A Cabinet meeting held on Friday recommended President Paudel to nominate Shakya to the vacant post of National Assembly, government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma said.

Former Nepali Ambassador to Israel, Shakya was appointed as a member of the National Planning Commission earlier.

The then KP Sharma Oli-led government had appointed Shakya as the ambassador.

She is also a member of the UML’s Foreign Department.
