Bimala Ghimire of UML files nomination for NA vice-chair post

KATHMANDU: Bimala Ghimire of the CPN-UML filed her nomination for the post of National Assembly vice-chairperson on Tuesday. The election is scheduled to be held on Wednesday.

Ghimire also has the support of the ruling alliance.

Madhav Kumar Nepal-led CPN (Unified Socialist), however, has been laying its claim to the post.

The CPN (Maoist Centre) has 17 lawmakers, UML 9, CPN (US) 8 and Janata Samajbadi Party has four lawmakers in the National Assembly.

One needs the support of 30 lawmakers to win the election to the post of National Assembly vice-chair.
