Home Ministry forms committee to investigate granting of gun license to Prasai
KATHMANDU: The Home Ministry on Friday formed a committee to investigate the granting of a gun license to medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai.
A four-member committee has been formed under the leadership of Home Ministry Joint Secretary Rajendra Dev Pandey.
Under Secretary at the Home Ministry Rishi Paudel, SP Santosh Bhattarai of Nepal Police and an Under Secretary member at the Home Ministry are the members of the committee.
Prasai’s bodyguard Deepak Khadka and Ram Kumar Dhimal were arrested with a weapon from the premises of the Supreme Court on March 18. They were carrying the firearms granted in the name of Durga Prasai.
Prasai’s bodyguard Dhimal was arrested with an ARMERIA PARINI SRL-Italy RIFLE GAUGE 22 LR-MADE IN GERMANY and a magazine with 100 rounds of bullets.
Prasai had obtained a license to keep the weapons and ammunition from the decision of the District Administration Office, Jhapa made five years ago on July 5, 2018.
