SC orders government to release Durga Prasai’s bodyguard
KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has directed the government to release the bodyguard of medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai.
A joint bench of Justices Nahakul Subedi and Sunil Kumar Pokharel on Tuesday issued a directive to release the bodyguard of Prasai.
The apex court issued such a directive after it was seen that Prasai obtained a license to keep the weapons and ammunition from the decision of the District Administration Office, Jhapa made five years ago on July 5, 2018.
It was mentioned in the license that he can carry and use the weapon in any places of the country in any situation.
Prasai’s bodyguard Ranumar Dhimal was arrested with an ARMERIA PARINI SRL-Italy RIFLE GAUGE 22 LR-MADE IN GERMANY and a magazine with 100 rounds of bullets from outside the Supreme Court.
