BYD rolled off its 7 Millionth New Energy Vehicle
On March 25th, BYD, renowned as the world’s foremost manufacturer of new energy vehicles and power batteries, celebrated a historic achievement by rolling off its 7 millionth new energy vehicle, the DENZA N7, at its Jinan factory in China. This milestone marks BYD as the world’s first automaker to reach such a remarkable production feat, signaling yet another groundbreaking accomplishment for the brand.
BYD’s journey to this momentous occasion has been one of rapid expansion and innovation. Just 18 months ago, in May 2021, the company celebrated the production of its 1 millionth new energy vehicle. Since then, it has swiftly multiplied this figure threefold, surpassing the 5 million mark in a mere 9 additional months. In a remarkable display of efficiency and scalability, BYD achieved the 7 million milestone in just 7 months from this point, underscoring the robustness of its end-to-end supply chain.
In 2023, BYD further solidified its position as a global leader in new energy vehicle sales, with cumulative annual sales of NEVs reaching 3.02 million units. Its diverse portfolio of models consistently topped sales rankings within their respective categories, showcasing the brand’s enduring popularity and appeal.
Moreover, BYD’s commitment to international markets has seen remarkable success, with a surge in overseas new energy passenger car sales exceeding 240,000 units in 2023—a staggering 337% year-on-year growth. This achievement solidified BYD as the top Chinese exporter of NEVs in 2023. Presently, BYD’s new energy passenger vehicles have reached 64 countries and regions worldwide, supported by strategic investments in manufacturing facilities in Thailand, Brazil, Uzbekistan, and Hungary. Additionally, BYD has proudly become the official partner of the UEFA European Football Championship 2024™, showcasing its new energy vehicles on the global stage.
Looking ahead, BYD remains dedicated to expanding and deepening its localization strategies for products, technologies, and brand presence across international markets. Through these efforts, BYD continues to drive the global automotive industry towards a greener and more sustainable future.
