5 killed in Udayapur jeep accident

BHOJPUR: Five persons died in a jeep accident at Mainamaini in Udayapur on Thursday.

The jeep (Ko 1 Ja 2593) was heading towards Bhojpur from Dharan when the tragedy occurred.

One of the deceased has been identified as jeep driver Man Bahadur Basnet. The identities of others are yet to be ascertained; it has been learnt.

DSP Sudip Raj Pathak of the District Police Office, Bhojpur informed that five persons died in the jeep accident.

He said that 14 persons were travelling in the four-wheeler.

Most of the passengers in the jeep are from Amchok and Hatuwagadhi Rural Municipality of Bhojpur.

DSP Pathak said that preparations are underway to send the injured to Dharan for treatment.
