Govt decides to recommend new chiefs in Madhesh, Gandaki and Sudurpaschim Provinces (With video)

KATHMANDU: The government has relieved the chiefs of Gandaki, Madhesh and Sudurpaschim Provinces and recommended the new ones.

A Cabinet meeting held on Monday decided to recommend Sumitra Bhandari as the chief of Madhesh Province, Dilliraj Bhatta as the chief of Gandaki Province and Najir Miya as the chief of Sudurpaschim Province, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma said.

“We have not fired them, but relieved of their position. It is necessary to have coordination between federal and provincial governments. We have done this to have a common political view in the centre and provinces,” she said.

All the three province chiefs recommended for the new appointments are from the CPN-UML.
