Sandeep Lamichhane to file appeal at High Court against District Court’s decision

KATHMANDU: Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane is to file an appeal at the High Court against the District Court’s ruling.

His legal team is preparing to file an application at the High Court tomorrow to reconsider the decision.

The Kathmandu District Court had sentenced Lamichhane to eight years in jail after being convicted of rape.

The court issued the verdict after he was proven guilty of raping a minor.

Lamichhane, however, has been pleading innocent in the case.

He is currently in the hospital. He is undergoing surgery for lipoma in his body.

A single bench of Judge Shishir Raj Dhakal had pronounced the jail term of eight years against Lamichhane.
